Dear Supplier,
UVEX has a tradition of working only with vendors and suppliers who share our dedication to
promoting the principles in the UVEX Social Standard. Our goal is to work in partnership with
you to ensure that all factories producing for UVEX adhere to the principles within the
Standard. UL’s Responsible Sourcing Group was chosen to represent UVEX in the execution
of this important programme.
UVEX’s direction to UL is to perform announced audits, thus the inspectors from UL will
arrive at your facilities with pre-arranged appointments. Please advise all of your production
facilities to extend all courtesies and cooperation to any UL inspector(s) arriving at their sites.
It would be very much appreciated if the following information could be made available for the
audit. The confidentiality of all proprietary information will be respected, and the results of the
audit will be held in strictest confidence.
Timekeeping records/employee earnings record
Terms and conditions of employees
Employee documentation (i.e. proof of age, employment contracts)
Training and hiring policies and procedures
Health and Safety system and/or procedures geared towards mitigating risk to workers
and the environment
At the end of the audit, a closing meeting will be held to discuss the audit results. If necessary,
both management and the auditors will collectively agree on a corrective action plan to address
any areas for improvement.
